The Yoshinkan Founder, Shioda Gozo
was Sensei to both Shogo Kuniba Soke and Yukio Utada Kancho.
Shogo Kuniba was taught Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu from Shioda Sensei.
. He then combined that teaching with his other arts to form his
"Goshin Budo Jujutsu" AKA "Kuniba Ryu Goshindo".
Jim Mc Coy Sensei learned Kuniba Ryu from senior students of Kuniba
Soke and received some instruction directly from Soke.
Utada Yukio Kancho taught Yoshinkan Aikido to Jim Mc Coy
The Hakko Ryu line was also passed
down from the hombu via the same students of Kuniba Soke. These
included: Lemuel Stroud, who trained with Okuyama Ryuho and other
hombu instructors, and his students Clayton Tucker and Mark Moore.
Also Clement Riedner and Roy Hobbs.
Also Sensei to Jim Mc Coy is Darrell
Craig - a Karate student of Kuniba Soke. Craig Sensei was trained
in Yoshinkan Aikido, Judo and Jujutsu by various teachers from the
Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. Craig Sensei also served as
U.S. Director of the Seishinkai Karate Union and the Seishinkai
Goshin Budo Union.
Richard P. Baillargeon, founder of
the National Karate and Jujutsu Union served as the first U.S. Director
of the Seishinkai Karate Union. He taught Goshin Budo at camps,
clinics and visits to our dojo.
Clement Riedner returned form military
service in Japan where he trained with Kuniba Soke and received
Hakko Ryu training. Keeping with the Seishinkai/HMAF, he joined
the group of martial artists in the southeast led by R.P. Baillargeon.
Roy Hobbs trained with the Seishinkai/HMAF
group in the Carolinas before travelling to Japan in the military.
Hereceived his Shihan Menkyo directly from the Hakko Ryu Founder,
Okuyama Ryuho. Irie Yasuhiro was the Chief Instructor at the Hakko
Ryu Hombu, receiving the Sandai Kichu directly from Okuyama Ryuho.
He later formed his own ryuha called Kokodo Jujutsu. Rohy Hobbs
Sensei later received Menkyo Kaiden from Irie Sensei before forming
Dentokan Jujutsu.
Yoshida Kotaro was Sensei to Richard
Kim, who in turn taught Daito Ryu to Aikijujutsu to Patrick McCarthy.
Patrick Mc Carthy went on to establish his own art of Koryu Uchinadi
Kenpojutsu. There is also a curriculum taught by Mc Carthy Hanshi
known as Aiki Kenpo Jujutsu.
Mochizuki Minoru was just one Aikijutsu
teacher of Georges London. London Sensei returned home to Uruguay
and is known as the Father of Japanese Martial Arts in that country.
One Aikijujutsu student of London Sensei was Gerardo Cantore.
In 2007 our lineage was ammended
when Jim Mc Coy Sensei was awarded rank in Takeda Ryu Aikijujutsu
by Gerardo Cantore More on this will be posted soon, There will
also be an update to the lineage charts to show more detail on the
Takeda Ryu line. |
