Minamoto established Daito Ryu
and the lineage continued down through Takeda Sokaku, the restorer
of Daito Ryu, as another branch of the Takeda family contiued the
development of a second branch of the Takeda family arts.
Takeda Sokaku was
Sensei to both Ueshiba Morihei, Founder of Aikido and also to Okuyama
Ryuho, the Hakko Ryu Jujutsu Founder. Another student of Takeda
Sokaku who went on to attain Kyoju Dairi was Yoshida Kotaro.
Ueshiba Morihei was Sensei to Shioda Gozo, the Founder of Yoshinkan
Aikido and the Mochizuki Sensei who went on to form Yoseikan Budo.
Both Shioda and Mochizuki learned Daito Ryu from Ueshiba.
Richard Kim Hanshi learned Daito Ryu Aikijutsu from Yoshida Kotaro.
