| Aikibudo Seishinkan
offers training in authentic Nihon Budo, the martial way of
Japan. |
At
this time, classes are offered in Yoshinkan Aikido and Toyama
Ryu Iaido. . The focus of the regular class is on the basic
techniques of the standard Yoshinkan syllabus. Aikido class
meets Monday and Thursday nights from 8:00 - 9:30 and Sunday
morning from 10:00 - 12:00. |
We
do have a special program called Deshikai (student association)
where dedicated students can study bothe empy-handed Aikijujutsu
arts, sword arts as well ast study the depths of Nihon Budo
and the unique inter-realtionship between the sword and the
empy handed arts. |
Aikibudo
Seishinkan is somewhat unique in the Fort Wayne area. McCoy
Shihan holds a Menkyo Kaiden, the highest level of teaching
license and the position of Sokedairi (personal representative
of the head of family). We are the only Aikido school left in
town. Along with Zentai, we are one of two schools of Japanese
swordsmanship in Fort Wayne. It is one of only a very small
number of dojo in the area that offers authentic training in
the Japanese martial arts and ways. Our school has direct lineage
from several Samurai families, a branch of the last royal family
of Okinawa and other ties to Japanese government agencies and
officials. |
Classes
are inexpensive and we do not have contracts for regular class. |
We
are located at 412 Noble Drive in Fort Wayane, where we share
space with Zentai Martial Arts. If you wish to vists class,
please contact me first. Vistors are encouraged to participate
in class as opposed to merely watching for a few minutes. Aikido
is one of those arts that must be felt and experienced. |
